The Agriculture and Environment Foundation was established in 2005 by Marlene and Jürgen Diekmann.
The purpose is the support of scientific research to enhance a balance between agriculture and environment. This includes support of institutions and projects dealing with scientific research, training and application of research, aiming at environmentally relevant developments in agriculture. Examples are activities required to avoid or minimize effects of human activities, like climate change.
